Mark Richardson is the Editor in Chief of Pitchfork, and a prolific music critic and writer.
Q1: Resonant Frequency has always seemed to me like a very Eno-nonian (forgive the awkward coinage) project— that is what you’re doing isn’t straight up music criticism (just as Eno isn’t always…I had a very interesting conversation with Matthew Gasda of The Vitalist about music, writing, and music criticism. It took us a while to conduct this interview over email but it was tremendous fun for me. Matthew had a lot of interesting ideas about music writing and music fandom, and it was also fun to stretch out a little bit about my column and where I feel music writing might go next.
