I was born with a sense that my time was running out. Not long ago, I too began...
– Com Lag: Slow Media and the occupation of online time - Ryan Alexander Diduck.
Interesting thoughts here. I’d imagine almost anyone who spends a fair whack of their time on the internet, or at least in front of a computer or phone, can relate to much of it.
Slowing down is difficult and...

Little White Earbuds Podcast 115: Ben UFO →
Really cool interview with one of the UK’s finest DJs and one of the heads of Hessle Audio. Podcast mix sounds great from what I’ve listened to so far, but then you wouldn’t expect anything else from him.
Has he ever played here? Would love to see a set from him soon either way.

Jeff Mangum - Vicar St.
1. I don’t get the idea of cult heroes.
2. A lot of those lyrics are messed up.
3. A lot of those songs are pretty boring standard folk songs.
4. The idea of Jeff Mangum urging a crowd of 1500 people to sing along freaks me out.
5. Three of those songs were very, very good. Good enough to make it worthwhile.

24/192 Music Downloads And Why They Make No Sense →
Following on from my post about Neil Young and his ideas of high fidelity music, here’s a solid, factual rebuttal of what he was talking about. Says what I was trying to avoid getting too into, simply because I don’t know enough of the hard details to get the point across and didn’t want to get bogged down in number-crunching. No such worries here though and it’s well worth...

Interview: Phil Elverum
Here’s a very short interview I did a little while ago with Phil Elverum. He’s playing the Button Factory tonight in support of Earth. Should be a good one.
What are your plans for the upcoming tour with Earth? Is it a solo show or will there be a band with you?
I am still working out what exactly it will be. It will be solo though. Chances are I’ll play guitar and sing, but...

Making Overtures: The Emergence Of Indie Classical →
I don’t really get the point of this article. Opening with a clash of styles like Terry Riley and Andrew W.K. kind of makes things seems a good bit weirder than they need to be here. Terry Riley has been a huge influence on so many established members of the indie cannon so as to render the inclusion of a figure like Andrew W.K. in the equation obsolete. By focusing only on the most popular...
